Collection

Nothing was born to be perfect, it has spent the time with heat and pressure to get the final glitter. Then after years, it is finally mined by people who regonogize it’s value. It is never only about it’s beauty, but also about the power it brings.

About the collection
This collection is about how natural imperfect grown gemstones are connected with people. Gemstones are usually defined as decoration for people who are willing to show their wealth or status. The jewelry at the retail stores are mostly sorted from the top quality minerals with enough hardness and toughness. While the majority of the gemstones mined from underground cannot reach the quality to become a part of fine jewelry. They usually have lower color saturation, more inclusions, or their shapes are not good enough to get faceted. Usually, these gemstones are considered as lower valued or get discarded, and cannot reach the purpose of their symbolic meaning. In my collection, I am experimenting how those characteristics of imperfection can show their unique values to people.
