I decided to explore ‘Ba Gua' in my project as it's the main fondation of YIJING.

Bio

Haixu zhang (Angela) is a womenswear designer who he studied in China, US and the UK.  She graduated from Parsons BFA fashion design program in 2022.

Haixu’s work expresses mood and feelings mostly through 3D draping. Her thesis collection is based on the theme of a Chinese traditional Philosophy ‘YIJING’. She creates series of designs by portraying eight natural elements (Sky, Wind, Water, Lake, Earth, Mountain, Fire and thunder) through her own feelings and insights into nature. She loves to seek stillness and balance through her surroundings.
